If you continuously avoid situations that make you feel uncomfortable, you impede your chance to grow.

Mentor Coach , The Most Important Principles of Learning Anything New

The Internet has made learning anything incredibly simple.

Today, it’s enough to open the browser on your computer and have instant access to an unlimited supply of knowledge.

So how come we’ve become more vulnerable, intellectually speaking?

I think it’s because we lost track of certain basic learning principles along the way. So I thought it would be great of you to tackle this topic in writing.

Let’s get started!

3 Things No One Tells You about Learning Anything

  1. It’s YOUR Responsibility.
  2. Practice Beats Theory
  3. Be Happy With Never Arriving

Now Do What Matters

I am always happy to hear from you.

The Most Important Principles of Learning Anything New

It’s YOUR Responsibility.

More often than not, new knowledge won’t magically find you. If you are feeling stuck and uninspired, it’s on you.

You control your ability to Live, Love, Learn.

You can challenge yourself to learn more. Decide to put yourself in situations that require you to step out of your comfort zone and learn new skills.

Many people have jobs that don’t require them to learn continuously. There’s something seriously wrong with that because it hinders their chances to grow and evolve. – Don’t block your opportunity to grow and evolve

The circumstances that make you feel uncomfortable at first are usually the ones with the most learning potential.

Practice Beats Theory

“In theory, there is no difference between practice and theory. In practice, there is.” Jan L. A. van de Snepscheut

I think it speaks volumes about how knowing the theory doesn’t necessarily mean knowing how to apply it. While the approach might be optional, practical application is necessary.

Personal development through knowledge sounds like an abstract concept, I know. However, it’s paramount that it has tangible effects.

In other words, you should be able to act on your knowledge. Working on your experience is what makes the difference between growth and personal stagnation.

Be Happy With Never Arriving

Why focus all of your energy and resources working towards achieving a particular goal?

When it comes to learning anything, you should concentrate on the journey more than the destination. The truth is you will never run out of new things to learn and ways to improve yourself.

Learn something new without having any big expectations or plans. Explore new fields of information just because you find the subject to be fascinating.

It will take a lot of the pressure off and allow you to explore topics you may not have considered before.

Do What Matters

Holding on to these basic concepts will help you make a habit out of continually improving your knowledge. That can only positively impact your life.
